Arthur Stowell fund for history education
The Arthur Stowell fund for history and education was established in June 2001. The bequest aimed to support educational activities promoting and raising awareness of local history in schools. Both 'history' and 'education' may be interpreted freely.
The following gives a flavour for the type of activities we would like to see the fund used for:
-
Studies in local archaeology or demography
-
Exhibitions, displays or public artworks related to local history, conservation or heritage
-
Research into the history of local schools
-
School projects on relevant topics such as water mills, agriculture, local markets and fairs, or eel fishing
-
Educational work associated with a local museum or heritage site
-
Publications related to local history, conservation or heritage
