Coordinating Alresford
Much of what goes on in and around Alresford year after year is dependent upon the time and enthusiasm of volunteers, whether that is at the Mid Hants Railway or the town centre Christmas trees, the Guy Fawkes Day celebrations, the eel house and museum open days, the Thursday lunch club, the Duck race, the 10k run or at the Watercress Festival and Agricultural show, to mention just a few.
Coordinating Alresford is a group of the voluntary organisations in and around Alresford that meets monthly to share ideas and to support and help each other to make sure Alresford events are truly fantastic. It is informal and aimed at improving lines of communication between local groups, raising awareness of forthcoming events (and, hopefully, avoiding potential clashes), and collaborating on projects that benefit the town.
Meetings are on the second Wednesday of each month. To find out more, contact vanessa@towntrust.org.uk
Which organisations take part?
The groups who regularly attend include the Town Council, the Town Trust, Rotary, Alresford Pigs, Chamber of Commerce, New Leaf, Churches Together in Alresford, and the Watercress Line.
Some other local groups that can't attend regularly are included in monthly mailing, so that they are fully informed about Alresford events.
If your organisation would be interested in attending or joining the mailing list, contact vanessa@towntrust.org.uk
