Our Patron
Michael Spencer, Baron Spencer of Alresford, also known as "Spence", is a British billionaire businessman and philanthropist. He formally became Patron of the New Alresford Town Trust in May 2025.

ICAP Charity Day: This annual event, established in 1993, has raised over £150 million for more than 2,000 global charities by donating a day's trading revenue. ICAP Charity Day.​

The Michael and Sarah Spencer Foundation: Founded in 2019, this foundation aims to donate £10 million annually, with a focus on conservation, military, education, and Africa.​

Specific Causes: The foundation has supported initiatives such as the British WW2 Normandy Memorial appeal, the Remember Me Covid memorial, and the Mail Force PPE campaign.​

Conservation: Lord Spencer is a founder and trustee of the Borana Conservation Trust in Kenya, which established a sanctuary for endangered species and reintroduced black rhinos.
The Michael and Sarah Spencer Foundation also works to relieve sickness, preserve health, prevent poverty, and promote education worldwide. Lord Spencer received the Beacon Fellowship for charity in 2007.
