New Alresford Town Council
The work of New Alresford Town Council falls into 3 key areas representing the local community, delivering services to meet local needs and striving to improve quality of life within the town. There are 11 Town Councillors who are elected every 4 years. The Town Council provides a number of facilities and services, including allotments and recreation grounds. They also actively seek to encourage tourism in New Alresford.
Alresford Pigs Association
The Alresford Pigs Association has given financial help to those in need in Alresford and the surrounding villages for more than 50 years. They raise money locally by organising or contributing to community events such as the Alresford Show, the Watercress Festival and the bi-annual Duck Race. They also erect, maintain and remove the town's spectacular Christmas trees and lights and organise the arrival of Father Christmas. The money raised is then donated to worthy causes in Alresford and the surrounding villages.
Alresford Rotary
Alresford Rotary is a network of neighbours, friends and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. They take pride in having a beautiful town and regularly organise garden tidys and plantings, painting and litter picking to support our Community. They manage the annual Alresford 10K run and have organised the bonfire and fireworks for over 22 years. Alresford Rotary raises money through the Christmas tree sale in Broad Street, and proudly sponsor the Alresford community minibus.
The Flower Pots
The Flower Pots Inn, affectionately known as the "Pots" by the locals, is a friendly pub in Cheriton, Hampshire. Nestled in the stunningly beautiful South Downs National Park close to the source of the River Itchen, award-winning cask beers have been produced on site in small batches by our experienced brewers since 1993. PotsFest, their popular annual summer Beer Festival, is now in its 29th year and features great cask ale, food and live music.
