Get involved
The Town Trust is funded almost entirely through donations and run by volunteers. There are many ways you can get involved from driving our minibus, to helping out at an open day, becoming a friend of the Avenue or taking a stall at the market. Alternatively, simply become a member or make a donation - more information below.
Become a minibus driver
We have around 30 regular drivers, and we're always keen to welcome more to the team. You will need to have a D1 licence, and be available to do a regular trip for half a day, once per month (although you can do more than that if you want!).

Help out at an open day
We run Open Days at the Old Fire Station museum, the medieval Soke Bridge and the Eel House around 8 days a year throughout the summer. We ask volunteers to spend one or two hours on site, welcoming and chatting to visitors. It's fun and easy to do - all information is provided, no expertise required, just a friendly face and a love of Alresford.

Become a Friend of the Avenue
For £25 per year, you can become a Friend of the Avenue. As a Friend, you will receive updates and information about the Avenue flora and fauna, and how we hope to enhance its value for both people and wildlife. In future we aim to have special events for Friends, and to provide opportunities to sponsor trees, bird boxes and benches.

Become a Thursday market trader
Our weekly market trades from 8am to 1pm every Thursday, offering great value and quality. We also welcome local businesses and charities looking for one-off stalls to raise funds or awareness.

Become a Member of the Town Trust
The Town Trust has a membership scheme to enable and encourage local people to understand and contribute to our work. You can can join for a single payment of £5 for life membership. Members receive updates about our work (but not too often!) and get invited to special events. Members can nominate and vote for Trustees and attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The Town Trust is a charity (no 239052) with a wide range of responsibilities. We are able to raise some funds through markets and events, and we have wonderful local businesses that sponsor us. But we mostly rely on the generous donations of our visitors, members and local supporters.
